Humans and the Environment
Relationships between people and their environments; cross-cultural health
While studying abroad in Ecuador, I fell in love with Anthropology and learning about our place in the ecosystem. I worked with many people from the Amazon who were very respectful of nature, and I wanted to learn how people all over the world could have a more symbiotic relationship with their environment. Since then, I have taught English classes to grades K-5 in Chiang Rai, Thailand, 1st grade in Phuket, Thailand and 4th grade in Guatemala City, Guatemala. As an elementary teacher, I love working with kids and helping them to appreciate nature and respect all living things. After graduating from Colorado State University with my M.A., I plan to continue working in the Americas, and I hope to explore more of South America. I am also interested in snowboarding, rock climbing, cycling, yoga, salsa dancing and learning Spanish.
