Denise’s research is focused on the effects the environment has on human skeletal remains. Her interests include the nutritional deficiency diseases, biomechanical effects of terrain or subsistence patterns and interpersonal dynamics. Her previous research in paleopathology used unique individuals to determine activity patterns and probable causes of infection. This research also explored the effect of the infections on the individual’s quality of life. Denise’s previous locations of research and excavation include California and Nevis.
