M.A. in Anthropology, Colorado State University
B.A. in Anthropology, Colorado State University
Dr. Don Crim and Dr. Jack Schultz
A native of Haxtun, Colorado, I earned BA and MA degrees in Cultural Anthropology at CSU, then obtained a PhD in Medical Anthropology at the University of California San Francisco/Berkeley. As a student at CSU, I conducted applied research projects with the Indian Health Service on the Wind River and Crow Indian reservations. I then had the opportunity to pursue research in rural Alaska under the auspices of the WICHE Resource Development Internship Program before and while working on my doctorate. I worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game from 1982 until my retirement in 2008.
Note to Students
The department provided a good general foundation in anthropology that helped to prepare me for graduate school. As a small department back in the early 1970s, we were able to get to know our colleagues very well and to socialize together. Don Crim's pig roasts were very memorable occasions.
