Graduate Student, Department of Anthropology
B.A. in Anthropology, University of Chicago
Bioarchaeology; mortuary archaeology; historical archaeology; the Americas
I am a Fort Collins native but I received my Bachelor of Arts with honors in Anthropology from the University of Chicago in 2015. During my undergraduate studies, I spent two summers with the Vitor Archaeological Project field school in the coastal valleys of southern Peru. This experience was the basis of my honors thesis and cemented for me the importance of approaching an archaeological site as a holistic and dynamic entity whose parts should be approached in context. My undergraduate studies focused primarily on biological anthropology, historical archaeology, and identity in the Americas. While my undergrad thesis focused on mortuary analysis of a contemporary cemetery in Peru, my true love is bioarchaeology and osteological analysis, wherever I can find it.
