B.A. in Anthropology, Colorado State University
I am currently living in Austin, TX and am the lead for Samsung’s Social Media Support team. Photography has always been a part of my life, so I also started a portrait photography business on the side. I continue my love affair with coffee (which, let’s be honest, really bloomed in college) by immersing myself in coffee culture. I have even had the honor of consulting for a brand new coffee shop.
Note to Current Students
I was a transfer student at Colorado State University and had been to (too) many colleges. I really wish I would have just started there as a freshman, but I’m so glad I finally found my home. I made great, lasting friendships and still treasure the memories from my final college years.
Just before I graduated, while worrying about what career path I would choose, I created a presentation (https://prezi.com/lfkrpptxg7yc/what-ive-learned-in-anthropology/) that really just started as a way for me to illustrate to potential employers how having an anthropologist on their team or in their company would be beneficial. It was a great answer to those quizzical looks during interviews from people that thought anthropologists study dinosaur bones. I’m not sure if it ever landed me a job, but I still have other anthropologists from all over the world that contact me about my Prezi so it’s been really fun meeting other people who can identify with the struggle.
