In April, Dr. Elizabeth Olson, Senior Lecturer in Geosciences at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, drew upon theoretical views of religiosity from Weber, Marx and Gramsci to interpret results from her extensive field work on religiosity among youth in two culturally-diverse, violence-plagued British urban neighborhoods. In the end, Dr. Olson argued that historical and spatial contingencies are influential on the co-production of religion and class.
